At least 85 cannabinoids have been identified in the cannabis plant. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabinol (CBN) are the most prevalent. CW Analytical offers accurate quantification of THC, CBD, and CBN in dried flowers, keef, hash, oils, tinctures, and butters.

What are cannabinoids anyway?

Cannabinoids occur naturally in significant quantity in the cannabis plant, and are concentrated in a viscous resin that is produced in glandular structures known as trichomes. In addition to cannabinoids, the resin is rich in terpenes, which are largely responsible for the odour of the cannabis plant.

THC is the main psychoactive compound produced by the cannabis plant. THC has mild to moderate analgesic effects, can stimulate appetite, and reduce nausea.
CBD is a non-psychoactive compound. It has proven effective in treating inflammation, pain, anxiety and spasms without the euphoria or lethargy often associated with cannabis.
CBN is a product of THC degradation and can therefore indicate the age of cannabis.
